No floor drains - oh joy!

Never thought I'd be so ecstatic about not having to install drains in the future kitchen's floor. It's all about grease traps, people. We will have one under the dish sink and one for the mop sink, so why did everyone think we needed them in the floor too? Half a dozen calls and a few hours later, it turns out we didn't have to have the bank breaking drains. That's right - that project probably would've derailed The S&S train. A wee bit terrifying there for a moment. But never be afraid to ask questions. Be your own best advocate. Persistance pays off (I learned this from my daughter.) These all came in useful for forging on. Disaster averted. Big, big shout out to Mark the Grease Trap Guru at FPUA!

We're meeting the architect again this morning. The plans look better than ever. And the space is so much larger now that most of the demo is done. It is tantalizingly close, the vision, but first we submit drafts to the state and the city. Then, we wait. On average about six weeks. Then we get permission to build it. Deep and profound sigh.

Keep on keeping on, folks.
